Since August 1, 2021 Jana, Maryia, Céline and Salome belong to the Kronenhof family! They are the newest 4 of a total of 12 apprentices at the Kronenhof!

Maryia is doing her apprenticeship as a hotel manageress EFZ. An exciting and very varied training, in which almost all departments of a hotel are passed through. The main focus is on housekeeping – cleaning and control of the guest rooms, the public area and our wellness area. At the Kronenhof, all the laundry (and there is quite a lot) is still washed in the in-house lingerie. Maryia is also trained in the lingerie. Then it goes on with the breakfast service, the service in the restaurant and the work at the reception.

Salome has chosen the profession of EFZ cook. Under the supervision of our chef Philipp Sammer, Salome is learning an incredibly exciting, creative, but also sweaty profession. Salome will start her training in the classical way in the Garde-Manger, the cold kitchen, where she will work with salads, starters, but also with sweet desserts. The training continues in the entremetier position, which is responsible for vegetables, side dishes and soups. In the third year of her apprenticeship, Salome will work at the lava grill and the saucier position.

Jana is training to become a commercial employee with a focus on the hotel industry. At the reception, Jana is therefore responsible for processing inquiries, guest requests and numerous administrative tasks. But also the check-in and check-out of the hotel guests as well as the fulfillment of their wishes (table reservations, recommendations, making the impossible possible) are part of the tasks at the reception. Jana also gains insight into accounting and personnel administration.

Céline has decided to train as a restaurant specialist. Here, it’s not just about serving food and drinks – no, every employee in the service department is a figurehead for the entire company! Céline is trained in beverage knowledge, wine, food service, sales and much more. From the first day of their apprenticeship, the trainee restaurant specialists are in contact with guests and are allowed to take on the wishes and challenges.

The apprentices at Kronenhof are supported by 6 vocational trainers. In addition, they attend the vocational school in Schaffhausen or Zurich as well as the inter-company courses on a weekly basis.
