First Schaffhausen Sauna Marathon

On Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18, 2023, the first Schaffhausen Sauna Marathon will take place.

In the city of Schaffhausen, mobile saunas and warm water pools will be set up in particularly beautiful places such as the banks of the Rhine, the Munot, the beautiful old town with its 171 bay windows, the Rhybadi and parks. The historic old town fountains are heated for bathing. Public indoor pools and saunas, hotel facilities and some private facilities will also be open. In total, about 25 saunas and more than 10 warm-water pools await enthusiastic participants at about 15 locations.

Contrary to what the event name suggests, it’s not about speed, but about socializing. Each team or participant should visit as many locations as possible, similar to an orienteering race. Participants can experience the beauty of our city and enjoy local specialties such as locally brewed beer or Schaffhausen Blauburgunder.
